Ben's Vietnamese in Woolloongabba is one of Brisbane's worst-kept secrets when it comes to karaoke. So it was probably fitting that karaoke fan - and Brisbane International victor - Serena Williams turned up there last week to sing just hours after defeating Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in straight sets.
An onlooker reported: "This guy got up and said something like 'I am going to sing this song [Your Song by Elton John] and dedicate it to the woman who just won the Brisbane International.
"She got up and helped him sing."
Meanwhile, Biz Markie is working on a new record, and plans to include a cover of one of Elton's compositions.
He is not yet revealing details, but has performed Bennie and the Jets in the past.
