U.S. Chancellor Media Corporation on May 26, 1998, said the company's five New York FM radio stations -- WLTW-FM, WBIX-FM, WHTZ-FM, WAXQ-FM and WKTU- FM -- teamed up to raise $40,000 for the T.J. Martell Foundation through live on-air auctions featuring unique celebrity items.
Elton was among the celebrities who participated in the auction and pledged support.
Meanwhile LITE FM (WLTW) auctioned off a full Elton John evening including limousine service, dinner for two and a pair of front row seats to Elton John's Fall appearance in the New York area. The winner and their guest will also be escorted backstage to meet with Elton John.
