Variety mag says his songwriting triumphs over Ketchup

U.S. entertainment industry organ Variety voted Elton and Blue's version of Sorry Seems To Be the Hardest Word their Prix du Vin Bon Cru on December 25, 2002.

The magaizne's annual Eurotrack Prix "V" (for Variety) awards are given to the individuals, projects, groups, etc., that helped define the European showbiz scene over the past 12 months.

"The Prix du Vin Bon Cru to Elton John who hit the No. 1 spot on the U.K. charts earlier this month with the boy band Blue with "Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word," reminding listeners that ace songwriting still triumphs over Ketchup," the magazine thundered.
