English first division soccer club Watford announced on June 28, 2001, it would float on London's junior stock market, the Alternative Investment Market, in order to raise money to help it challenge for re-entry into the premier league.
Watford Leisure Plc, the holding company of The Watford Association Football Club, said in a statement today it was seeking to raise at least £5 million (US$7.07 million) by floating on AIM in August 2001. It said it plans to issue a prospectus detailing the offer in early July 2001
