Healing Hands: Famous Players Team Up For Charity Record

Written by Chief Editor.

A longtime member of Elton's band appears on a new three-song EP.

Davey Johnstone was invited by Joe Walsh to appear on Prayers, featuring composer Amjad Ali Khan. Khan and Walsh met when the latter took a trip to India. They performed together at Mumbai's Taj Mahal Hotel. Joe then invited Amjad and his two sons to visit L.A., where they recorded the music which appears on Prayers. This was done at the guitarist's home studio.
Also playing on the EP are Khan's sons, Amaan Ali Bangash and Ayaan Ali Bangash; Stewart Copeland; Jim Keltner; Michael Thompson; Nathan East; Joe Vitale; and Lee Sklar.
Proceeds benefit IntraHealth International, a global health nonprofit that improves the performance of health workers and strengthens the systems in which they work.
