Painful Injury Forces Pop Legend to Postpone Tour Dates

Written by Chief Editor.

Elton is postponing some tour dates until 2023.

EJW and the star's many fans were sad to learn that he has been suffering from a painful hip injury. So he's been forced to move the upcoming 2021 dates of his farewell tour in Europe and the United Kingdom to 2023.

The composer explained on social media: ''At the end of my summer break, I fell awkwardly on a hard surface and have been in considerable pain and discomfort in my hip ever since. Despite intensive physio and specialist treatment, the pain has continued to get worse and is leading to increasing difficulties moving.''

Elton said he has been advised to undergo an operation soon in order to avoid ''long-term complications,'' and he also plans to undertake an intensive physiotherapy programme.

He will still take part in a Global Citizen event on the 25th of September, as this will be a ''very difficult physical undertaking'' than performing onstage. After that, though, Elton said he plans to have an operation so the tour ''can get back on the road'' in New Orleans in January 2022.

He added that he will make sure the shows ''are more than worth the wait.''

We all wish him a speedy recovery!
