A singer who contributed to Rock of the Westies has died.
Sarah Dash was part of Labelle: they were backing vocalists on Medley (Yell Help/Wednesday Night/Ugly). The group was best known for their 1974 hit, Lady Marmalade.
The New Jerseyan released a few solo albums and her Ooh La La, Too Soon was used in a Sassoon jeans commercial. She also went on to sing with Bob Diddley, Alice Cooper, the Rolling Stones, Wilson Pickett, and the Marshall Tucker Band, among others. In 2003, she was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
The 76-year-old's final performance took place on the 18th of September, when she joined Patti LaBelle at a concert in New Jersey. No cause of death was provided.
