Records reveal that Elton has paid $8.5 million for the home next door to his longtime Beverly Hills digs. So according to Dirt.com, the singer and his family will own nearly an acre of land instead of half an acre.
This was an off-market deal, and the neighbour's place, which includes a swimming pool, was never publicly listed for sale. It is walled and gated for security, and there is a motorcourt with space for several vehicles.
According to tax records, the house has five bedrooms and four bathrooms in about 5,300 square feet of living space. Tall hedges offer additional privacy.
It's believed that much of the acquisition's $8.5 million purchase price was because of the location--in Trousdale Estate, a particularly coveted neighbourhood pocket of Beverly Hills. Elton and David Furnish have resided next door for nearly a decade. They paid $7.3 million for their 4,300-square-foot home, which they redecorated and upgraded.
