Written by Chief Editor.

The Oncenter Crouse-Hinds Theater in Syracuse and the Broome County Forum Theatre in Binghamton, New York, will soon be holding musical tributes to Elton and Billy Joel.

They are Sock Out Cancer benefit concerts featuring a seven-piece band fronted by Philip Myers and Matt Cusson.

Phil, who will focus on classics like Bennie and the Jets, Crocodile Rock, Philadelphia Freedom, and Candle in the Wind, has written songs for and recorded with Garth Brooks, Alabama, and Emmylou Harris, among others. He used to be a staff writer at RCA Records.

Matt will sing You May Be Right, Movin' Out, and other Billy Joel numbers. His 2009 debut album won the John Lennon Songwriting Contest's biggest award, the Maxwell Song of the Year. Artists he has worked with include Stevie Wonder, James Taylor, Christina Aguilera, and CeeLo Green.

The Syracuse show takes place on October 8; Binghamton is set for the following night.
