Premier's Office Gets Unexpected Calls From Elton John Admirers

Written by Chief Editor.

EJ fans desperate to get their hands on seats at his north Queensland shows have been calling the premier's office, with tickets selling out in less than an hour on Tuesday.

Concert venues in Mackay and Cairns may be 11 and 19 hours' drive from Brisbane, but that has not quelled the enthusiasm of devotees.

Tickets to the September shows went on sale on Tuesday morning  and sold out within an hour.

The sales showed that people were travelling from interstate to attend the Queensland shows.

Some were so eager to obtain tickets, they were even hunting down a press release from last month when his shows were announced and inadvertently calling Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk's office for help.

Sir Elton is bypassing Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne on his Once in a Lifetime tour, instead announcing dates in regional areas.
