He and David Furnish took part in a TIME 100 Talks discussion with Katie Couric, during which the former said that transgender people are being murdered and ”treated as non-existent or unimportant. They are heroes to me.”
The couple also spoke about how parallels can be drawn between the coronavirus pandemic in America and the global HIV/AIDS crisis, and point out that minorities are particularly impacted.
