The Toronto engagement of Disney’s The Lion King plays the Princess of Wales Theatre from this evening through June 15. Opening night is scheduled for May 1.


The award-winning show premiered in Toronto in April 2000 at the Princess of Wales, where it played 1,560 performances through January 2004, and returned in 2011 for an eight-week, sold-out engagement.

The latest Toronto staging includes Patrick R. Brown  as ‘Scar,’  L. Steven Taylor as ‘Mufasa,’ Brown Lindiwe Mkhize as ‘Rafiki,’ Nick Cordileone as ‘Timon,’ Jelani Remy as ‘Simba,’ and Nia Holloway as ‘Nala.’

The role of Young Simba is alternated between Jordan A. Hall and Nathaniel Logan McIntyre, and the part of Young Nala is shared by Nya Cymone Carter and Tyrah Skye Odoms.
