Claremont Special School in Bristol has taken delivery of a minibus donated by Elton and his partner, the Evening Post has divulged.
The gift, which has been made through the Variety Club, will help the growing 75-pupil school offer more learning opportunities outside of the classroom.
The vehicle can seat 12 or take four wheelchairs.
Head teacher Alison Ewins said: “We are very grateful to Elton and David for their generous personal contribution and to the Variety Club for organising it.
“The school will benefit hugely as students will be able to access the community to aid their learning.
“We can use it for trips to the shops to learn about money, to access hydrotherapy sessions and for our college links.”
Claremont School raised £12,000 towards the £24,000 bus, with the rest coming in sponsorship from Elton and David.
Claremont provides education for children aged three to 19 across two sites with physical disabilities and severe learning difficulties.
