Earlier this month, Kiki Dee performed at Devizes Town Hall with her longtime musical partner, Carmelo Luggeri.

In a review of the concert, the Swindon Advertiser said that while the former has worked with the likes of Elton and Dusty Springfield, she has accomplished much on her own, and with over half a century in the business, ”has never looked or sounded better.”
Kiki and Carmelo played many of their own songs; yet the evening would not have been complete without some old favourites; Amoreuse, Don’t Go Breaking My Heart and I’ve Got the Music in Me. The duo also covered the Everly Brothers’ Let It Be Me.

Kiki enchanted the audience with her tales as well – one in particular, when her parents were invited to Madison Square Garden in New York to see her perform with Elton  – with promises of 1st class air travel and a cruise home on the QE2, only for her folks to decline; they couldn’t go since they had booked their caravan holiday!

In addition, the singer joked about the dungarees she had worn on the Don’t Go Breaking My Heart video, although many observers thought she appeared to look pretty much the same as in the decades-old clip.
