Paul Buckmaster, the arranger, conductor and composer who was responsible for the lush backgrounds an numerous recordings, including three of Elton’s early albums, has died at the age of 71. No cause of death was given.

Other artists Paul worked with were David Bowie, the Rolling Stones, Carly Simon, and Guns N’ Roses.
More recently, he collaborated with Taylor Swift and Heart.
Elton wrote on Instagram that he was heartbroken. He feels that Paul made him the artist he is today, and that he was a revolutionary and irreplaceable arranger who ”took my songs and made them soar.”
