Veteran artists had a good showing on Rolling Stone‘s list of the 50 Best Albums of 2016: the latest releases by Elton,  Sting, Bonnie Raitt and Paul Simon all made the grade. 

Elton’s Wonderful Crazy Night ranks at #39, with the magazine calling it a “bluesy celebration filled with delicious reflections and sweet celebrations of what has made his career so significant.” 

Bonnie Raitt’s Dig In Deep, is #37, while Sting’s 57th & 9th is in 33rd place.

Paul Simon is No. 12, with Stranger to Stranger.

Other music veterans featuring on the compilation include two entertainers who died this year: David Bowie and Leonard Cohen.
