Rush Limbaugh died yesterday at the age of 70 after a battle with lung cancer. During the recollections, Elton’s name came up.

That’s because when Rush married Kathryn Rogers in June 2010, the entertainer was none other than Elton. Since the talk show host wasn’t known as a supporter of the LGBTQ community, many were surprised. But Elton said that life is ”about building bridges, not walls.”
David Furnish explained to People magazine that year that the musician figured that if he could make a great impression, folks ”might change their perspectives on life.”
Elton performed for about 80 minutes, closing with Can You Feel The Love Tonight. Guests received a copy of one of his greatest hits albums.
Furnish later said that the Limbaughs were ”incredibly gracious and welcoming, and very sweet and appreciative.”
