Billboard‘s November 21st issue is the first time the publication has featured the Top Hot 100 and Billboard 200 Songs, Albums and Artists of All Time.
When it comes to the 100 Top-Performing Artists on the Billboard 200 (from August 17, 1973-October 10, 2015), Elton is considered #5. He’s third in the tally of Top-Performing Artists on the Hot 100, from August 4, 1958 through October 10, 2015. The Beatles and Madonna are in first and second place.
Elton is further down the list of Top-Performing Songs on the Hot 100 (August 4, 1958-October 10, 2015). His Candle in The Wind 1997/Something About The Way You Look Tonight comes in at #49. As for the Top-Performing Albums on the Billboard 200 from August 17, 1973 until Oct. 10 of this year, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road is in the 39th slot.
More recently, Elton has been rated #2 for concert grosses, thanks to a dozen sellouts at Caesars Palace last month. Also in October, the musician played his final concert in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He set a new record at the Denny Sanford Premier Center, which posted a congratulatory message in Billboard. The page also thanks Elton for making the gig ”one for the ages.”
