Marina Abramovic, who has helped raise funds for the Elton John AIDS Foundation, celebrated turning 70 with a party at the Guggenheim Museum in New York.

The event was held on December 8, although the performance artist’s birthday was actually on November 30. Guests included Andres Serrano, Martha Tuttle, Naomi Campbell, and David Copperfield

Martina also celebrated the release of her autobiography, Walk Through Walls.

The EJAF calls the book ”a vivid and powerful rendering of the unparalleled life of an extraordinary artist and even more extraordinary woman.”

In 2013, the foundation and the renowned artist worked together to produce a special new photographic print in a limited edition of 300.  Sales of the prints went towards the EJAF’s life-saving work and the educational activities and art preservation work of the Marina Abramovic Institute.

Also in 2013, Marina and seven contemporary other artists donated pieces for a Sotheby’s auction to benefit the EJAF.
