Elton has dedicated a park bench to former Watford FC and England manager, Graham Taylor.

The tribute appeared in the town’s Cassiobury Park with a plaque bearing a short message from the former Reg Dwight.

The musician appointed Graham as Watford manager in 1977, a year after he took ownership of the club. The 72-year-old died  of a suspected heart attack in January.

The bench and four newly-planted trees are located at the Rickmansworth Road entrance to the park. Taylor used to take players on pre-season runs in Cassiobury Park.

Watford Borough Council confirmed they had been paid for by the rocker and that “an official unveiling” was being planned.
