Share this news has revealed that on the 10th of August, USM will be releasing a psychedelic compilation called A Kaleidoscope Of Sound (Psychedelic & Freakbeat Masterpieces).

This artefact includes an extensive booklet and rare photos, and the pressing is limited to only 1,000 numbered copies.

Phil Smee put together the collection, drawn from labels like Decca, Polydor, Philips, and Mercury. Offerings include the Birds Birds on Say Those Magic Words and Caleb Quaye‘s Baby Your Phrasing Is Dead.

Birds Birds featured Ronnie Wood – on a 1966 single cut for Robert Stigwood’s Reaction label. As for Caleb, he had previously been in the band Bluesology with Reg Dwight (and later became a member of the Elton John Band). Rumour has it that Elton is the keyboard player on Baby Your Phrasing Is Bad.
