Elton will be performing on Saturday and Sunday nights in Victoria, British Columbia.

Yesterday, ahead of the concerts, the singer walked into a downtown Vancouver record store and asked if they had anything by Tech N9ne.

Beat Street didn’t have any recordings from the rapper, but Elton still managed to spend about $200. He opted for a bunch of albums by British band Scritti Politti, plus some other pop and rock selections.

He also signed a copy of his own disc, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, for the store.
Beat Street wasn’t the only record shop Elton visited. He went to Vinyl Records on West Hastings Street, where an employee says he bought as many as 40 or 50 albums.
So in total, the pop icon wound up spending over $1,400.
