Heralds Elton’s 53rd MSG show – a record

Elton John’s 53rd show at New York’s Madison Square Garden on November 28, 2001, was also the night he broke the record for the most shows ever performed by a single artist or group.

A total of 52 performances was set as teh target to beat by the Grateful Dead in 1994.

Both nights Elton performed the same set. Elton called Bernie Taupin on stage and thanked him for the long lasting collaboration.
