You’re probably aware that in 1971, Elton played keyboards when T. Rex performed Bang a Gong (Get It On) on Top of the Pops.


A tribute album to Marc Bolan and his band has a newer version. This time, the former Reg Dwight has joined U2.
The LP, AngelHeaded Hipster, is due on the fourth of September, and is a companion to a forthcoming documentary film on Bolan. Joan Jett, Kesha, Marc Almond, and Todd Rundgren are among the other participants.
Hal Willner, a friend of U2‘s, headed the project. He passed away earlier this month because of coronavirus complications.
