In December 2015, this Web site had an article about the Smithsonian Institution‘s search for fan photographs.

The largest museum in the world had just launched Rock ‘n’Roll, a crowdsourced site chronicling the rise of pop, hip hop, and other genres through the lenses of concertgoers. For nearly one year, the museum accepted and published fans’ photos online. These were then considered for a book about rock and roll and/or a related exhibition.

The results can be seen later this year, when Smithsonian Rock and Roll: The People’s Pictures is published.

The book will be available on October 24th, and Elton is among the subjects.

The organiser is Bill Bentley, who was with Warner Brothers Records for many years.
