Thousands of photos of world famous pop and rock legends and sporting greats from the studio of the internationally acclaimed Top of the Pops photographer Harry Goodwin are to be sold soon by Surrey’s premier fine art auctioneers Ewbank’s. This begins at noon on the 30th of October.

The photographs and at least as many negatives, almost all with full copyright, will be sold without reserve. Some will be offered as individual lots, others in carefully selected groups. They are expected to raise a total of around £20,000 and the proceeds donated to the leading cancer centre The Christie, Manchester. Ewbank’s will waive their commission so that the entire hammer total will go to the charity.

Lot 199 should be of particular interest. It consists of over 200 negatives. These are mainly music-related and consist of Elton, Sylvia Syms, Dave Dee, Tony Visconti, Hazel O’Connor, and others.
