We have a sensational report on Ray from reporter Teresa John, who earns a gem for this glittering sighting!

The concert took off like a bomb from the moment Ricky Martin came on stage to Paul McCartney’s brilliant finale, which went on way after the TV programme had finished.

All the acts performed to a very appreciative audience. We were standing from start to finish. I was very excited when Elton sang his song, but just as the crowd around me we were dissapointed that he wasn’t acctually there. I am sure that if he was he would have brought the house down knowing the power of his stage presence.

BUT, I have to say that the unexpected highlight of the whole evening for me was to see Ray Cooper on stage once more. I could not believe it when I saw him performing again. He has not lost any of his brilliance and I was mesmerised by his percussion skills. This really made the concert extra special for me.

In the souvenir programme that we were given there is a short paragraph of information on Ray Cooper which mentions his work with Elton along with his film work and his school based in South Africa for educating children through music.
