The special will feature archival footage, exclusive interviews and a behind-the-scenes look at some of the award show’s unique moments, including Paul McCartney’s Abbey Road medley which also boasted Bruce Springsteen, Joe Walsh and Dave Grohl at the 2012 ceremony, and Aretha Franklins unexpected operatic performance from the 1998 event.

“As we approach this milestone in Grammy history, we are excited to give music fans a glimpse into what artists, musicians, producers, set designers, and others do to make those unforgettable Grammy moments,” says Neil Portnow, the Recording Academy’s president and CEO.

“This special will take audiences on a new journey as they relive those extraordinary moments that can only be seen on the Grammys.”

Others making appearances include Coldplay‘s Chris Martin, Mary J. Blige, Celine Dion, and Keith Urban.
