Suffolk auctioneers Bishop & Miller will hold its next big event on Saturday, the first of April.

The sale of Fine Jewellery & Watches includes a very special lot. It consists of a Boucheron sapphire mounted powder compact. The rectangular case with a concealed mirror is overlaid with a yellow metal pierced open work panel decorated with floral and foliate motifs and a tropical bird below a butterfly. Highlighted with sapphires, opening to reveal two compartments, this item from the Elton John Collection, together with the velvet case, has an estimate of between £300.00 and £500.00.
The auction will involve more than 700 lots, also including a Rolex once owned by Eric Clapton and a Laco Second World War Luftwaffe air crew beobachtungsuhr wristwatch.

Oliver Miller, managing director of Bishop & Miller, told the Ipswich Star: “We are extremely excited by this auction; we are attracting a lot of interest from across the world with many lots in this sale.

“We have a strong American market and a lot of interest from across the UK as well, so hopefully these star lots will fly and to attract such a high number of entries into this sale is great for the business. I am really excited about this auction and can’t wait to start auctioning all the lots.”

The goods will be open for public viewing on Wednesday, March 29, from 9.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.; Thursday, March 30, from 9.30 a.m. through 7 p.m.; and Friday, March 31, from 9.30 a.m. until 4.30 p.m., plus from 8.30 a.m. on the day of the sale for the duration of the auction.
