A four-part docuseries makes its debut on YouTube Originalson March 23rd. Demi Lovato: Dancing With the Devil features interviews with family members as well as friends like Sir Elton and Christina Aguilera.
The difficulties of fame at a young age are addressed by Elton and Christina, and Demi talks about ending her relationship with actor Max Ehrich. But the focus is on the performer’s near-fatal 2018 heroin overdose.
”I had three strokes, I had a heart attack, my doctors said that I had five-to-ten more minutes,” the 28-year-old says in the trailer.
In 2018, pop and rock artists reinterpreted some of Elton’s songs on the album, Revamp. This included Demi, who teamed up with Q-Tipfor Don’t Go Breaking My Heart. A year later, after watching Rocketman, she wrote on Instagram: ”Elton, you are such an icon and I’m honoured to know you, not because of all you’ve accomplished or created, or overcame all that life threw your way, but because you have a heart of gold who’s raised hundreds of millions for charity, your sobriety is so inspiring and your strength is so admirable.”
She added: ”Obviously the music was phenomenal but the acting and performances were awesome too.”
