Thought you were the ultimate Elton John fan? Well now you can prove it! Unless you have managed to see all the places on our list, you will struggle to hold the title of Elton’s biggest fan!

Introducing an event in June 2002 which breaks new ground for Elton fans. A two-day tour of Elton John and Bernie Taupin sights in London and Lincoln, England, including a chance to meet some famous faces that loom large in the Elton John legend.

Join this very exclusive tour and stroll down London’s Denmark Street. See the former sight of Dick James Music, where Caleb Quaye helped Elton cut his earliest demos. Sit at the piano at the Northwood Hills Pub in Pinner, where a 15-year-old Reg Dwight played his first gig. See the Frome Court flat, exactly as pictured in Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy, then walk around the corner to Elton’s birthplace. If time permits, get a glimpse of the famous East End flat in Islington that inspired Someone Saved My Life Tonight. That evening, enjoy a private dinner with some very special guests.

The next day, ride through the farmlands of Lincolnshire to Owmby-by-Spital. See the church tower that Bernie climbed as a small boy and the actual site of the famous Angel Tree. Have lunch in the Aston Arms Pub in Market Rasen, inspiration for Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting. Step into the church where Bernie served as an alter boy and later married Maxine Tiny Dancer Feibelman (with Elton as his best man). See Piglet-in-the-Wood, Bernie’s home in Tealby, along with the “castle ruins” mentioned in When I Was Tealby Abbey and First Episode in Hienton. You’ll even have a chance to “take air along the quay” in Grimsby! If time permits, you’ll also get a quick glimpse of Bernie’s early childhood homes, Flatters and Rowston Manor.

Your tour guides will be three experts in Elton lore including Dale Berryhill, regular contributor to fan magazine East End Lights and the bi-annual Elton Expos, George Matlock, former Hercules UK manager, and Lincolnshire native Alan McCormick, owner of the Wrap It Up! mail-order Elton John company.

The Ultimate Elton John Tour will take place June 1 & 2, 2002. Participation is limited on a first-come, first-served basis to no more than 10 or 15 true Elton John fans.
