According to Billboard‘s August 12, 2004 tally, thirteen of the Red Piano shows (running July 23-25; 27-28; 30-31; August 1; 3-4, and 6-8) attracted 52,809 people and grossed $8,853,975.
The publication also reported that signed memorabilia from names like Elton, Bernie Taupin, the Beach Boys and Ringo Starr will be auctioned off on Ebay.
It starts on September 16, with proceeds going to charity. One of the beneficiaries is the Paul Atkinson Family Trust. Paul, a member of the Zombies who once worked with Elton, passed away on April 1.
