The July 2, 2011 Watford Observer has reported that celebrities wearing glasses gave inspiration to nursing home patients and staff marking falls awareness week.
St Georges Nursing Home in Cobham joined in the Age UK event by making and wearing funny specs influenced by personalities such as Sir Elton on June 21.
Activities manager Amanda Jackson said: We had great fun making and wearing glasses. The residents very much enjoyed the arts and crafts sessions and it was very entertaining seeing residents and staff in lots of different glasses.
The week, which is celebrated nationwide, aims to raise awareness of simple ways that falls can be reduced, such as eye tests and strength and balance exercises.
